17. SUMMER COMES TO BRISTLECONE RIDGE©
This is one of my favorite places near James Peak. It takes me about 45 minutes to reach this spot from my home in Golden, CO. In July the wild flowers just explode in bloom. Bistort, Golden Banner, Columbine and Blue Bells are just some of the blooms. At about 12,000 feet only the sturdy Bristlecone pines and Engelmann spruce can survive.
